Recent History.....
Recent History... A city in the shadow of the capitol, College Park
has always struggled with its status in the Camarilla, longing for
independence but requiring protection. After the disappearance of the
Ventrue prince of Washington DC, who claimed College Park as her domain, the
city began to establish a coherence among its people driven to recover
Prince Augusta and vanquish the demon that terrorized their streets.
While Chaos and uncertainty reigned in DC, College Park solidified
its defenses. And though the city fell to the Sabbat during the first
weeks of the Great War, College Park came to be known as the turning
point.
Led by their returned Prince Augusta and their now well-known
military commanders, Mr. Hate, Kenneth Lee, Kerberos, and Joseph Falkonne,
College Park became headquarters to the resistance efforts on the East
Coast. After three years of fighting, reinforcements finally arrived and
the Sabbat were pushed out of DC and College Park. A year later and they
had been pushed out of Arlington and most metropolitan areas returning
the local maps to pre-war borders. Other cities saw success as well,
though most of the East Coast still teemed with bloody conflict.
The Local Situation.....
College Park:
Even after the Sabaat were pushed out of the area,
College Park did not tie itself back with the Camarilla. Instead the
kindred of the area chose to be known as a "Free City". Although being a Free
City so close to DC came with a few rules stipulated by Mr. Hate and
Kerberos. The laws set down declared that the masquerade would be
maintained and that no quarter would be given to Sabbat lest Hate return to
keep things in order. The loudest to complain against these rules were a
group of kindred called "The Seven", who saw any Camarilla influence a
threat to their freedom. Since that time the wayward town has been home
to Camarilla, Anarchs, as well as various unaligned groups like the
Nosferatu, Giovanni and Settites.
Being a city of "freedom" has meant several political upheavals and
changes in leadership. To date, the College Park kindred have been led by
a Giovanni, a Gangrel elder, and a now the Ventrue Thomas Stone.
College Park has always been given more leeway since Livia came to power.
With the end of the Great War, will College Park once again turn to the
Camarilla for support, or choose to remain an Free City and stand alone.
Washington DC:
Since DC and College Park were re-taken, many of the
former residents have moved on to fight in other regions. Prince
Augusta, who still considers the area her domain, traveled broadly from
Seattle to Europe garnering support for the continued war effort. She
occasionally made appearances in the free cities, visiting College Park when
time allowed, but always under heavy guard.
Now that the word has gone out that the War is over and the Camarilla
victorious, many of the elders that had relocated to Seattle during the
war have begun to return. As one of the prime leaders in the war
against the Sabbat, Livia returns stronger than ever. Rumor has it that she
plans to host a prince's conclave in DC in the spring to open a dialog
between the realms. Livia's attachment to College Park is widely known
and considered to be a weakness by the Camarilla, so only time will tell
if the wayward town will be invited.
Baltimore:
After 25 years of control, the Sabbat has cleared out of
this once resilient stronghold. Rumors vary about the true cause of the
mass migration, ranging from widespread madness, to occupation by
hostile forces. The only known facts are that the Sabbat are no longer in
Baltimore, and the Camarilla still does not control it.
Annapolis, MD:
As a border town between the Sabbat and the Camarilla,
this small town hosted many fierce battles between the two political
rivals. Once Baltimore fell however, the Sabbat were easily driven out by
the remaining DC forces lead by Battle Commander Kerberos, after the
disappearance of Mr. Hate. Kerberos now leads as prince of Annapolis, a
reward for his duty and support of the Camarilla.
Around The World
The South.....
Richmond, VA:
Since the war's end, Richmond has become a model
Camarilla city ruled by a Ventrue prince. Marcus Dimitrius, known to his
enemies as "The Roman," has a secret room where he displays trophies
collected from his many battles against the enemies of the Camarilla. It is
said he has a particular dislike for Settites, and was eager to serve
as the Camarilla's Southern Commander during the war.
Raleigh, NC:
During the war, the prince of Raleigh fell to an
assassination attempt by the Sabbat. This plunged the city into chaos as many
struggled to become prince. Eventually, the well-respected sheriff was
able to pull the city together and rose to the top. The new Brujah
Prince, Michael Blackman, rules with city with an iron fist, but has a
reputation of being just. Camarilla war hero Kenneth Lee now resides there
as the Toreador Seneschal to Prince Blackman.
Atlanta, GA:
Atlanta is still a supernatural dead zone. Nothing
supernatural that has entered this city has come back out. The only note of
importance is that the Giovanni control the city through the influence of
their mortal family.
Orlando, FL:
This southern city has become a new
stronghold for the Sabbat. The Camarilla has made many attempts to get
rid of the Sabbat here. Each time they have failed, miserably.
Miami, FL:
With the loss of aid from New Orleans and Orlando,
Malkavian Prince Toldos eventually ran out of tricks to keep the city in
Camarilla hands. The city fell to utter corruption. Miami is a Settite
infested hive. Enough said.
New Orleans, LA:
This party town fell to the Sabbat before the war
and they have continued to keep it in their hands. Recently this town has
seen an influx of Sabbat since the fall of Baltimore. Bishop Vanessa
Bloodsaw currently controls New Orleans.
The North.....
Philadelphia, PA:
Brujah Charles Thornton was appointed as the new
prince of Philadelphia after it was discovered that the previous prince
and seneschal were Sabbat sympathizers. Archon Hubris was responsible
for uncovering their wavering loyalties and putting an end to the two
elder kindred.
Wilmington, DE:
entrue Prince Edward Miller heads this city under
Camarilla rule. The kindred population in this city is low and comprised
mostly of Ventrue and Giovanni.
Trenton, NJ:
Trenton is headed by a Malkavian, Prince Ivan
Slupovitch. The city fluxed between Camarilla and Sabbat control throughout the
war, ending in Camarilla hands. Much acclaim was given to Ivan's
Gangrel army and his ability to control them. The Camarilla always treats a
Malkavian prince with caution, few desire to delve too deeply into the
secret of his success.
New York:
The Camarilla likes to claim New York as their own. In
reality there are several sections in the city that have continuously
repelled intrusions by the Camarilla, mainly the Bronx and Queens, but other
small pockets of resistance remain as well. Manhattan is firmly in
Camarilla control and is led by Ventrue Prince Lorian Vaughn. Joe Falkonne
has also been stationed in New York. He currently serves under Prince
Lorian as sheriff. Falkonne also heads the efforts to clear out the
remaining Sabbat in the city. Falkonne was offered the princedom of
Philadelphia, but declined so that he could keep fighting.
Boston, MA:
There may be some Sabbat still left in the city, but because Boston is the
well-known headquarters of the Inquisition, the Camarilla made no attempt
to root them out for fear of bringing the Inquisition down upon them.
The only thing that the Camarilla really cares about is getting
information out about this vampire hunting society.
North of Boston:
Most cities north of Boston are primarily unaligned
cities. This is due in part to the lack of kindred population in these
areas, as well as a result of the Inquisition's presence in the region.
Columbus, OH:
Halfway through the war the Camarilla sent a token
force into Columbus to gauge the strength of the Sabbat there. When they
arrived, however, they found all the Sabbat gone, except a few
individuals who had apparently sealed themselves inside a bunker to hide. They
were quickly taken out. Rumor has it that they were driven out by
werewolves. The current prince is a Gangrel called Elayne Ba'th. As most of
her kind, she is pretty lax on formalities in her domain. She was chosen
as the best person to handle any possible future threat from the
werewolves.
Chicago, IL:
During the war Christoper Kai, head of clan Toreador,
rose in power and became prince. Chicago saw very little fighting, it
seems the Sabbat never made it that far into Camarilla territory.
The West.....
Las Vegas, NV:
This desert party capital has stayed constant
throughout the war. The Giovanni are still firmly in control and at this time
not much will change that. The Traditions are still cleaved to, though,
and all independents are welcome within this domain.
Los Angeles, CA:
Not quite the jewel it used to be, this Anarch town
is now firmly controlled by the Sabbat. A huge push out of Mexico at
the end of the war in the East caught the unorganized Anarchs completely
by surprise. Virtually overnight the town had a vastly different feel
as any left alive had fled. They put up a resistance, but they were no
match for the vastly superior numbers of the Sabbat. It is suspected
that the Sabbat had inside help, and many Anarchs joined their numbers
during the battle. Now the Sabaat has a large stronghold in the west.
San Francisco, CA:
The new Anarch home town. Although most of
northern California is still Anarch territory, San Francisco is where the
"Anarch government" relocated after they were pushed out of Los Angeles.
There is a growing sense of paranoia with the Sabbat so close in the
south and the Camarilla to the north, and both parties interested in this
coveted territory. There are rumors that the Camarilla has some
"advisors" in town helping to strengthen the defense of the city so that it
won't fall to the Sabbat. Nothing has been confirmed though.
Seattle, WA:
This is the strongest Camarilla city in North America.
Many kindred elders fled to Seattle when DC fell. The Justicar for North
America is headquartered here as well. Since official word has gone out
that the war is over, Seattle has reclaimed an air of relaxation and
celebration. In reality, the war council still gathers at regular times
to discuss plans for pushing the Sabbat out of the States once and for
all. The Venture Prince, Katherine Svetslana has ruled in Seattle since
its inception. She is strongly supported by her Seneschal Manfred Von
Fricken. Von Fricken is Tremere regent for the area and along with his
clan, has a great amount of control over the city and surrounding areas.
